GIEK can finance Norwegian exports to Indonesia

New agreement should boost Norwegian-Indonesian trade

The Indonesian market is large and growing steadily: 5.1 per cent growth in 2017, aiming for 5.3 per cent in 2018. This strong economic performance has attracted new investments in recent years. Resolute politicians, led by President Joko Widodo, have effectively cracked down on corruption and improved the business climate for domestic and foreign investors alike.

A new free trade agreement will soon be signed between Indonesia and the EFTA countries (Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Liechtenstein). The Agreement will lower tariffs and regulatory barriers, and enable easier and more profitable trade between our two countries.

Norwegian companies are already established in Indonesia within the oil and gas, power generation and distribution, and telecommunications sectors. With the new agreement in place, Norwegian-Indonesian trade should pick up after a two-year decrease.

GIEK—The Norwegian Export Credit Guarantee Agency— has in-depth knowledge of the Indonesian market. We offer Government-backed, long-term buyer credit guarantees to Indonesian buyers. Together with Export Credit Norway, we can provide competitive financing packages for purchases of Norwegian goods and services worldwide.
