Among other things, the report states that loans and guarantees in connection with export will be even more important in coming years. The industrial companies want external conditions to ensure a competitive export financing.
«Together with the guarantee schemes in the governmental Garanti-instituttet for eksportkreditt (GIEK), export financing loans have been invaluable to many capital exporting companies", the report says.
- Because of its industrial structure, The Federation of Norwegian Industries is dependent on a strong export financing and guarantee offer. Here, GIEK has met our expectations for years, Sunde says.
«Companies supplying the oil and gas industry, including subcontractors, account for one fourth of the companies, one thid of the export and half of the turnover. This is a Norwegian phenomenon, and one of the reasons why the Norwegian industry have been relatively successful compared to many other countries. Altogether, there has been a good growth in export. The supply industry to the oil hub has approximately 15 % turnover growth and 15 % export growth» it was stated in yesterday's presentation.
According to the economic report, several of the Norwegian supply companies to the oil hub will be able to compete in delivering equipment to the offshore wind market.
- GIEK will be even more important in coming years, seeing that new oil provinces even further away will become relevant and that the offshore wind market is expected to need GIEK over time, Sunde says.
- For The Federation of Norwegian Industries, it is essential that GIEK is competitive at any time - and we will pay attention to that, he says.
